 Riding a Century makes sense

Good evening all

A few photos

Was early at the start, 35 cents via train.  What a bargain, almost as good as being a club member

Saw this bike decorated for Spring. Next door was this Peanuts display for Jacques.

We are in Arcadia as the starting park indicates, there was this wall mural.  Did not see any peacock and Jacaranda don't bloom for another month. Did hear the noise of parrots and pink Tabebuia were in glorious color.

On the ride pointed out to Phil he did not need to travel to San Clarita to view poppies. We are seeing them along our way.
Took this photo of poppies with non-native nasturtium by the Santa Ana River Trail
I do apologize not meeting with the group as I was going east but a nice tailwind pushed me, saw you guys on Imperial from the wooden bridge.

We saw Gulf which both Phil and Mario had to get a photo of this rare site looking it up besides that one in Brea, there is a station in Venice.

We had bit of navigational difficulty following the El Cajon bike trail. I've only been on once in my lifetime. Got to know Hurless Barton Park taking advantage of restroom.
In the parking lot were a couple riders who I met on SART riding tandem so of course I drafted.  There was a headwind heading west, that's our head pointed west. Not that our heads were pointed, it was heading in that direction.  Such a heady subject.  English is such a funny language or should that be United States of Americanish.
And we'll know next time not to go through the church's parking lot. We got enough people mad at us already, don't want to add the Big Man

Did not get home till 8.  Train was delayed.  Then Metro is doing mass maintenance so with less trains, they are packed and me with a bike makes it difficult to get on and off.  Well the price I have to pay for cheap transportation. Though I'd been home sooner had I ridden the bike.
The good, all the slots on the train were taken.  The bad, some bicyclist u-locked her bike so I had to lift mine over to get in.  In here helmet is a note to be nice.  One side had four fancy expensive racing bikes with fancy wheels and the owners, well none of the owners are there with their bikes, came down they were all young thin racer types with their fancy kits.  So I'm thinking they probably rode down to San Diego.  Gosh if it were me, if I can ride down there, I'd have ridden back which I had in the same day and once rode up to Santa Barbara and back the day before.  Sigh, those days are long gone.

This Sunday will not attend the winding roads, not using the train.  Have not decided which 200 K to pursue.  On conversation, PCH mentioned, so will be looking at a ride out to Hueneme.
Only good weather ahead.  No excuse for not riding.  I'll keep saying that to myself.

Happy bicycling, David

I apologize do not have Edwin's address.  Expect the metric riders had a good ride And Hoy's experiment went well.
