Santa Barbara Easy 200k Announcements Starts on 06/01/2025 07:00 Distance 124 Miles Starts at Mountain Meadows Park Mountain Trail and Mountain Meadows Drive Moorpark, CA Hi to Riders of the Santa Barbara Easy 200k Brevet on 6/1/25: Thanks for registering for the ride. It looks like we will have some fairly mild June weather on Sunday, probably mostly pleasant. There is a slight chance of showers according to NOAA. START: Mountain Meadows Park in Moorpark. There is parking here, but I don't know if the restrooms will be open this early. I suggest using the Vons nearby on Tierra Rejada before coming to the start. I will be at the start by 6:40 so you can check in with me. Call me or send a text (626-398-0483) if you are running late or if you can't make the ride. If I haven't heard from you and you aren't there before 7:00, I will assume you are DNS. The ride will start at 7:00. There are no early starts. DURING RIDE: If you need a cue sheet, please print your own. This is an unsupported ride- you will need to carry your own food and water, or obtain it on the ride. There are plenty of parks, convenience stores, etc. on this route. The control at Santa Barbara Harbor is an open control- you can choose any place to eat lunch, or just grab supplies at the little market. Or if you're not stopping, just ride to the docks then turn around and head back. There is no SAG. If you have a major mechanical you will need to figure out your own way back to the start. FINISH: There will not be a volunteer at the finish. When you finish, you must send Kerin a text or email that includes a selfie of you at the finish. Your ride time will be based on the time of this photograph, so don't delay. If a group finishes together, you can send me one group photo.

After the ride, wanted salad. Went to Pizza Dan which I've been to before a few times, has an adequate salad bar.
And I order same each time, that's a small mushroom pizza. I can't finish that. But I do every time. Found a previous photo from 09/08/2024

Double Peak Park

Knew where I wanted to go, the Elijo Hills, took a map and devised a route. Using many roads never ridden as this is all new to me, learn much of the streets were in gated communities. Found out fast as my first climb up Vera Cruz did but took a side gate to enter and continue up. The next street takes me to a closed road which I go under the chain, a very nice area with people hiking, goes by a nice pond. Will have to come back to check this area out now that I know where it is, Discovery Lake. Over to the dreaded Twin Oaks Valley climb. A cloudy cool day helps. My first area with a gate. Continue into San Elijo for the descent till Double Peak Dr and the tough ascent to the park. Never been, glad I struggled there. There are paintings of the views with sights marked.
