Good evening all Thanks to all on yesterday's ride. I made it slowly but safely home. On my way into the wind via Rio Hondo, stopped at a park to rest, tell the wife of my mishap. 'You clean that wound. You have hydrogen peroxide. You have Neosporin ' I don't carry those stuff. I'm riding 'Get yourself home and take care of it. Take the train' Let me stop talking to you and get going 'Call me when you get home.' The dog is waiting, jumping up and down to get out. I have to play with him. As I am, call Donna. 'Did you take care of it' I'm with the dog. I went the whole day without cleaning it, it can wait. 'Take a picture so I can see it' No. You'll see it when you see me as your Thanksgiving turkey. It won't heal before then. Put the dog in, put ham and cheese on tortilla, microwave then add romaine and ranch dressing. Drank instant ice tea. Lay on bed, fell asleep. This morning my body is hurting, slight headache. Looked at my wound. I thought Phil said you can hardly see it. I have a black eye, it's swollen to slight closure. Debated, decided to cover it with band aid. People thought I was Mike Tyson's replacement. So I'm all achy, going to bed after this. Now worrying will I be able to recover for the Dead of Winter Double. Don't think I'll be able to get on the bike tomorrow. Hopefully with some rest, I'll be OK. Imagine you all heard/read of the plane crash at the Pomona drag race. Was wondering how close were we to be witnessing it. Had it crashed which is why the blimp was there and the patrol cars. And the long line of cars. Got in the mail from Culver City Walk and Rollers they are having a donut tour on Dec. 1. In the past did research of Tour de Donuts. There are like a dozen events in the US, has/had one in San Diego, just saw one in San Luis Obispo but the OG of them all which appears to be still rolling along is https://www.tourdedonut.org/ Would I be able to even compete. Yeah I'm going to write about my donut tour but tonight I'm going to bed. Again thank you and it was fun riding with all. Apologize did not take a photo of Audrey Hepburn poster next to me, you probably seen it from Breakfast at Tiffany, due to glare from the lights. Opposite wall has like five Marylin Monroes who could not hold a candle next to the beauty and elegance of Audrey.

Double Peak Park

Knew where I wanted to go, the Elijo Hills, took a map and devised a route. Using many roads never ridden as this is all new to me, learn much of the streets were in gated communities. Found out fast as my first climb up Vera Cruz did but took a side gate to enter and continue up. The next street takes me to a closed road which I go under the chain, a very nice area with people hiking, goes by a nice pond. Will have to come back to check this area out now that I know where it is, Discovery Lake. Over to the dreaded Twin Oaks Valley climb. A cloudy cool day helps. My first area with a gate. Continue into San Elijo for the descent till Double Peak Dr and the tough ascent to the park. Never been, glad I struggled there. There are paintings of the views with sights marked.
